Well-known Sackville resident, businessman and community volunteer Owen Davis has passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 73.

Besides his family and close friends, Davis will be missed by an entire community, which benefitted from his hard work and determination to make Sackville a great place to work, raise a family and have fun, say those who knew him.

Family members say they appreciate the love and respect the residents of Sackville had for Davis, and now have for them during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 16 and Monday, Oct. 17 from 2 p.m. to  4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. in Lower Sackville.

The funeral will be held at Exhibition Park in Halifax on Tues. Oct. 18 at 1 p.m.
